GIORGIA MONTI
Giorgia Monti is an Italian award winning poet, short-story writer and cultural liaison, organizing and marketing international art events and performance touts through Italy (where she lives).
She is the co-founder and director (along with poet Serena Piccoli) of the well acclaimed Poetry and Sister Arts International Festival (Forlì-Cesena, Italy).
Giorgia Monti and Serena Piccoli run a nonprofit cultural association called “Lestordite”, dedicated to promote Poetry and Poets. Programs range from spoken word shows to festivals, workshops, readings, and other public events.
Together with Serena Piccoli she is the editor of the forthcoming “Sciame”, an anthology of poems and prose on violence against women (Cicorivolta press, 2019).
It includes literary works by contemporary poets from Italy, UK, USA, Argentina, India, Russia, Ghana, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland.
In addition, her poems and short stories have been published in journals, anthologies and literary magazines worldwide, such as: “Giri di parole” Casa Walden 2014, “Or-dite! Trame d’arte contro la violenza sulle donne” Exosphere PoesiArtEventi 2015, “La pacchia è strafinita” Versante Ripido 2018, just to name a few.
Some of her poems in English have been published in the column “Poemata - Contemporary Verses” edited by Francesca Del Moro in the magazine “Illustrati”, Logos Press (Italy).
Some of her works have also been translated into Romanian and published in Tribuna Magazine, the historical cultural magazine of Romania, which is distributed in many European countries.
Together with Serena Piccoli she runs a Contemporary Italian Poetry column on Tribuna Magazine to give an accurate representation of the diversity of Poetry in Italy.
As both a poet, performer and arts activist, Giorgia has performed widely throughout Italy and Europe at Poetry Festivals including Tribuna Days, Cluj (Romania, November 2018), Bologna In Lettere (Bologna, 2015-2016-2018), IGiovediDiVersi (Bologna, 2018), Artistincasa, Montegiardino (Republic of Saint Marin, 2015); just to name a few.

She has also worked as an editor for Cicorivolta Press (Massa Carrara, Italy).

The verse of one of her poems “Come bocca di pesce i pensieri” was selected as the title for the exhibition of the internationally acclaimed artist Jara Marzulli in 2012 in Bari (Italy).
In 2013 nine of her poems were chosen for a social project called "Tessere il mosaico" together with batiks made by visual artists.
She is the author of the 26 poems that have been hanging on the walls of the buildings in Regnoli Street in Forlì (Italy) since 2014 for the third edition of “Outdoor Gallery”, directed by Luigi Impieri.
In 2015 “Terre rare” Art Gallery, the official partner of Bologna Jazz Festival, selected her poem “Suite per contrabbasso solo” for its event and exhibition called “Cromatismi jazz”.

Lestordite is a no profit cultural association based in Forlì (Italy) funded and directed by 2 friends and acclaimed poets:
Giorgia Monti (on the left) and Serena Piccoli (below).
The Association aims to spread Poetry through performances, theatre shows, readings, festivals, workshops and other events.
It also contributes to the fight against discrimination, hate and violence through cultural projects involving Poetry and Drama.
Giorgia (both a poet and a short-story writer) and Serena (poet and playwright) are invited to perform their poems and those of other Italian poets all over the country in squares, city halls, cafés, theatres, schools, festivals and many other venues, both individually and together.
One of their shows - "Or-dite! Trame d'arte contro la violenza sulle donne" (where they both perform poems by contemporary poets against violence on women, with live music) - has been a successful show since 2015, still touring many Italian cities, and
it is a third edition book.
They are the funders and directors of the acclaimed International Poetry and Sister Arts Festival in Forlì and Cesena, Italy. It hosts artists from all over the world: dancers, painters, musicians, writers, photographers, performers and of course, poets!

SERENA PICCOLI
Serena Piccoli is an Italian award winning poet, playwright and translator (English, French, Italian) and cultural liaison, organizing and marketing international art events and performance touts through Italy (where she lives).
She is the co-founder and director (along with poet Giorgia Monti) of the well acclaimed Poetry and Sister Arts International Festival (Forlì-Cesena, Italy).
Serena Piccoli and Giorgia Monti run a nonprofit cultural association called “Lestordite”, dedicated to promote Poetry and Poets. Programs range from spoken word shows to festivals, workshops, readings, and other public events.
Serena Piccoli holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and received her MA in Theater from the University of Venice, IUAV (Grade: Excellent). Her 30 plays are produced throughout Italy.

In 2018 two of her English poems were selected for the anthology "Extreme - an anthology for social and environmental justice”, edited by Mark Lipman, published by Vagabond Press, Los Angeles, USA, 2018. It includes poetic works by Jack Hirschman (Emeritus Poet Laureate of San Francisco), Neeli Cherkovski, Antonieta Villamil and Lawrence Ferlinghetti, to name a few.
Her poem “And the river” has been selected for “The quality of Mersey”, an anthology of poems on the River Mersey (Liverpool, UK), edited by Barry Woods (Liverpool, UK, 2018).
Some verses of her poem “Ode to a Spring Rose” were selected for “Quoting Love”, a literary and photographic project by Robert Roach, and exhibited at The Old Truman Brewery Art Space in London in June 2015.
As both a poet, performer and arts activist, Serena has performed widely throughout Italy and Europe at Poetry and Theatre Festivals including Tribuna Days, Cluj (Romania, November 2018), Mother T’s, Laksey (Isle of Man, August 2018), Bilbos, Ramsey (Isle of Man, August 2018), Bologna In Lettere (Bologna, 2016), IGiovediDiVersi (Bologna, 2016), Artistincasa, Montegiardino (Republic of Saint Marin, 2015); Pronto Intervento Poetico (Padova, 2015) and International Poetry Day (Padova (2013 – present).
She is also a feminist, a lesbian and a human rights activist.
Serena Piccoli translates poems and plays from English into Italian.
Salomè: Donna di Valore (Cleup, University of Padova Press, 2017), is her Italian translation (along with Pina Piccolo) of award winning American author, Adeena Karasick.
